Job summary

Story-Cannabis is seeking a strategic Retail Area Manager to lead multiple cannabis dispensaries across Ohio. The role requires strong multi-unit leadership, deep knowledge of state regulations, and a focus on customer experience and operational excellence.

You will hire and develop Store Managers, review performance, analyze sales KPIs, and partner with marketing to execute local campaigns while ensuring compliance and consistency across locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Retail Management, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience required.
• 2+ years of experience in multi-unit retail management, cannabis industry experience strongly preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of cannabis regulations and retail operations in a regulated environment.
• Strong leadership skills with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Ability to travel regularly between locations and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Proficient in POS (Dutchie), compliance (Metrc), inventory management systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of multiple dispensaries within the assigned region.
• Ensure all locations are compliant with local, state, and federal cannabis regulations.
• Hire, train, coach, and develop Store Managers and key in-store leadership.
• Conduct regular store visits and performance reviews to drive accountability.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, inclusivity, and professional growth.
• Analyze sales data, KPIs, and customer trends to identify opportunities for growth.
• Set and monitor performance goals for stores and teams.
• Collaborate with marketing and product teams to execute local campaigns and product launches.
• Champion a consistent and exceptional customer experience across locations.
• Implement feedback systems to improve service and satisfaction.
• Partner with compliance teams to conduct regular audits and implement corrective actions.

Overview:
