Job summary

Central Steel & Wire, part of the Ryerson Family of Companies, is seeking an Area Lead for the second shift to oversee the warehouse team and support the supervisor in meeting production and department goals.

The role involves operating material handling equipment, leading safety and training, and ensuring timely repairs. Hours are 3pm–11:30pm, Monday through Friday. Competitive benefits include health, retirement plans, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, and disability insurance.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Experience operating material handling equipment.
• Willingness to learn SAP.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-changing environment.
• Ability to pass physical requirements exam.

Responsibilities

• Operate motorized handling equipment including crane, side loader, and forklift.
• Lead and fill gaps during high demand and short-handed periods.
• Train staff and develop team members.
• Lead pre-shift safety and production huddles.
• Coordinate repairs and respond to machinery breakdowns.
• May assume short-term management coverage as needed.
