Job summary

Commercial Metals LTD is seeking a hands-on production teammate to support the bar production process in a safety-first environment. You will work across operations—from forklift tasks to cross- training on equipment—ensuring quality output and efficient workflow.

You will participate in safety programs, maintain clean work areas, and collaborate with melt shop teams on caster and furnace operations while meeting overtime needs and working outdoors when required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in a hands-on department environment.
• Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to operate forklift and overhead crane.
• Ability to use measuring devices (tapes, micrometer, calipers).
• Adherence to OSHA/EPA safety policies and regulations.
• Team-oriented with strong work ethic and problem-solving.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to work overtime as needed, including emergencies.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safety-first attitude and enforce it across the crew.
• Ensure high-quality bar production.
• Focus on cost reduction and waste minimization.
• Communicate shift information, issues, and opportunities to operators and staff.
• Lead continuous improvement for productivity and uptime.
• Coordinate staffing and operate mobile equipment like forklifts and yard trucks.
• Support workflow with cross-functional machine tasks.
• Participate in CMC Safety Programs and uphold Safety Culture.
• Train teammates on equipment and maintain clean work areas.
• Work with melt shop personnel on caster, furnace, cranes, and related systems.
