Job summary

Sunrise Senior Living seeks an Area Human Resources Manager to lead HR strategy and operations across multiple Sunrise communities in Greater Boston and the South Shore, with regular travel between sites. You will oversee recruitment, onboarding, compliance, and HRIS/ATS management while partnering with department leaders on performance and engagement.

Role requires strong employment-law knowledge, supervisory experience, and excellent communication and analytical skills; you will drive policy

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in HR, Business, or related field.
• 2+ years HR experience (senior living or healthcare preferred).
• Supervisory and employee relations experience.
• Strong knowledge of employment law and compliance practices.
• Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills.
• High integrity and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle recruitment, job fairs, and hiring processes.
• Ensure compliance with Sunrise Hiring Standards and employment laws.
• Lead onboarding, orientation, and system access for new team members.
• Maintain HRIS, ATS, personnel files, and regulatory documentation.
• Manage unemployment and workers’ compensation claims.
• Serve as HR partner to department leaders on performance management.
• Lead employee relations matters and internal investigations.
• Drive team member engagement initiatives and action planning.
• Deliver HR systems and policy training for front-line staff.
• Maintain audit readiness and complete monthly compliance controls (MKCC).

As an Area Human Resources Manager, you lead HR strategy and operations across multiple Sunrise communities, ensuring strong recruitment, compliance, and team member engagement.

This role currently supports the Greater Boston and South Shore market, including Braintree, Norwood, and Plymouth, with market coverage increasing over time.

Regular travel between communities to provide on-site HR partnership and support, with approximately three to four days per week spent onsite across these locations, based on market needs.
