Aramark Healthcare+ is seeking an inspiring and results-driven Area General Manager – Bloomington Areato lead Environmental and Food Services operations at Indiana University Health Area Hospitals. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker and hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment, with oversight of services generating $2M–$10M+ in managed volume.

You’ll be the driving force behind operational excellence across multiple service lines—including Environmental Services and Food Services —delivering innovative solutions, maximizing performance, and ensuring top-tier service for patients, staff, and visitors.

Job Responsibilities

As the Area General Manager your key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead & Inspire:Manage and mentor a dynamic team to deliver exceptional service and maintain high standards in daily operations.
  • Operational Excellence:Execute best-in-class food and environmental while meeting performance benchmarks.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement:Use data, KPIs, and audits to identify gaps and lead strategic initiatives for process and service enhancement.
  • Build Strong Partnerships:Act as the face of Aramark to our client and community, cultivating trust and aligning operations with client goals.
  • Flex with Agility:Step in to support or cover Director or Manager-level functions as needed, ensuring seamless service continuity when needed.
  • Fuel Financial Success:Oversee budgets and financial performance, working in tandem with Finance to drive profitability and efficiency.
  • Ensure Compliance:Champion safety and regulatory standards in alignment with local, state, federal, and Aramark policies.
Qualifications

We're looking for a leader who blends operational savvy with people-first management. Ideal candidates will have:

  • A Bachelor’s degreein Hospitality, Business, Facilities, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven leadership experiencein food or environmental services within an acute care hospital (preferred)
  • Strong financial acumen, with the ability to manage budgets and translate data into actionable insights.
  • A growth mindset with a drive to innovate, learn, and become a subject matter expertacross service lines.
  • Demonstrated success in leading multi-level teams, including developing and mentoring frontline and management staff.
  • Stellar communication and relationship-building skills, with comfort navigating client contracts and high-level discussions.
  • A commitment to excellence in service delivery, safety, and compliance.
  • Willingness to be hands-on and adaptable in a physically active environment, sometimes requiring PPE or uniforms.
