Job summary

Choice Hotels International is seeking an Area Director, Franchise Performance to drive performance across a diverse portfolio of midscale and upper-midscale franchised hotels. You will act as a strategic advisor to owners and above-property leaders, leveraging data-driven insights to improve profitability, revenue, guest experience, and brand standards.

The role requires extensive travel (~70%), strong relationship management, and the ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
• Minimum 15 years of progressive hotel operations experience.
• Minimum 10 years of hotel leadership experience, preferably with multi-unit or franchise performance responsibility.
• Demonstrated ability to drive performance outcomes through data-driven decision-making, analytics, and operational expertise.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site and virtual consultations to improve hotel-level execution across financial performance, guest experience, and operations.
• Advise hotel owners and operators, ensuring adoption of the midscale operating model.
• Use dashboards and analytical tools to identify opportunities and influence decision-making.
• Recommend strategies to improve revenue, guest satisfaction, profitability, and cost efficiency.
• Ensure execution of recommendations through coaching and follow-up with property stakeholders.
