Job summary

First Citizens is seeking an Area Executive to drive financial performance and growth across the Minnesota, South Dakota and North Dakota footprint. The role leads branch banking teams, builds strategic regional sales plans, and partners with Retail, Business, Commercial and Corporate lines to achieve profitability and client acquisition goals.

The position may be based at any First Citizens office within the footprint, with strong emphasis on leadership, risk management, and strategic execution

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with 10+ years in Commercial, Business or Retail Banking.
• High School Diploma or GED with 14+ years in relevant banking sectors.
• Experience leading banking teams, driving growth, and managing client relationships.

Overview

The Area Executive is responsible for driving the financial performance, growth, and profitability of the Bank’s Community West Region, encompassing markets in Minnesota, South Dakota and North Dakota. This leader provides strategic direction and sales leadership for branch banking teams, while fostering strong partnerships across the organization. The Area Executive develops and executes regional business and sales strategies to achieve the Bank’s growth, revenue, client acquisition, and profitability objectives.

This position may be based in any First Citizens office location within the Minnesota, South Dakota or North Dakota footprint.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Leadership & Team Management

Lead and develop banking leaders and teams to achieve market goals. Drive accountability, provide coaching and feedback, and foster a high-performance culture focused on client outcomes, associate engagement, and talent development.

Client Experience & Growth

Drive revenue growth and relationship expansion by promoting a client-focused sales culture. Partner across retail, business banking, commercial banking, and corporate teams to identify opportunities, deepen relationships, and achieve business objectives.

Risk & Operations Management

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, Bank policies, and risk management standards. Oversee operational performance, maintain a strong control environment, and balance growth objectives with sound risk management practices.

Minimum Required Education and Experience:
