United Rentals in Norcross, GA is seeking an Area Dispatcher to coordinate daily driver dispatch for a metro area, ensuring safe, timely deliveries and strong customer service. You will partner with Operations Managers and Inside Sales to align schedules with demand.

The role emphasizes safety, multitasking in a fast-paced setting, and proactive communication to meet operational needs and service levels.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership, organization and communication skills.
• Technical knowledge of DOT/Federal Motor Carrier rules and regulations.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Oversee dispatch of drivers within the metro-area to maximize efficiency and customer delivery responsiveness.
• Monitor driver progress and adjust schedules as pick-up and delivery orders come in.
• Maximize truck loads outbound and inbound.
• Optimize use of overtime and outside haulers to deliver superior customer service.
• Support branches in maintaining customer relations via phone, making additions, cancellations, and changes regarding equipment location or delivery time.
• Demonstrate commitment to safety and discipline through exemplary personal compliance, accountability and pro-active communication.
• Perform all safety inspections within company and governmental policies.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
