Job summary

HSBC is seeking an Area Director based in Guernsey to lead a team of relationship managers and oversee a portfolio of clients. The role focuses on holistic financial planning, banking, lending, investments and insurance, with a strong emphasis on coaching and performance management.

You'll develop capabilities, strengthen client partnerships, and drive growth while aligning with HSBC's standards and local community presence in the Channel Islands.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to advise on a wide range of wealth products and services.
• Deliver needs-based financial solutions through effective communication and sales skills.
• Hold a Level 4 Financial Planning Diploma and demonstrate holistic financial planning knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Guernsey Premier Team to meet customers' banking, lending, investment and insurance needs.
• Manage a portfolio of customers and advise on holistic financial planning as a trusted adviser.
• Coach and develop relationship managers to strengthen capability, performance and career progression.
• Apply the operating model and guidelines to deliver consistent people management, service and sales outcomes.
• Build internal and external connections to strengthen HSBC's brand and community presence.
• Monitor sales activity and performance data to drive business goals.
• Recruit and onboard relationship managers in line with headcount plans.
• Set objectives, run reviews and address underperformance per policy.
