As Area Director,based inGuernseyyou’lloversee a team of regulated and non-regulated relationship managers while managing your own customer portfolio, helping customers with their holistic financial planning needs across key life events. This role sits at the heart of how we support Islands customers with banking, lending,investmentand insurance needs. Success means building a consistent, high-quality customer experience while meeting businessobjectivesthrough strong sales quality and service standards.You’lldevelop the team’s capability through ongoing coaching, performance conversations and sharing best practice.You’llalso strengthen HSBC’s presence in the local community through internal and external connections that support growth and the HSBC brand.

In this roleyou’ll:
Oversee the Guernsey Premier Team to meet Islands customers’ banking, lending,investmentand insurance needs
Manage a portfolio of customers and advise on holistic financial planning as a trusted adviser through key life events
Coach and develop relationship managers to strengthen capability,performanceand career progression within HSBC
Apply the IWPB Operating Model and relevant operational guidelines to deliver consistent people management,serviceand sales outcomes
Build internal and external connections that strengthen the HSBC brand, attract newcustomersand embed HSBC Guernsey in the local community
Monitor sales activity and management information, using insights to focus the team and deliver business goals
Run regular team and one-to-one sessions to share priorities, setfocusand address risks and issues early
Recruit and onboard relationship managers in line with headcount and resourcing plans
Setobjectives, run performancereviewsandtake action to addressunderperformance in line with policy
Evaluate performance against KPIs and provide discretionary incentive recommendations in line with Group incentive plans
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
Hold a Level 4 Financial Planning Diploma
Bring proven experienceprovidingholistic financial advice across a wide range of products and services
Demonstrate experience in a Wealth Adviser, IFA, Financial Planning Manager or similar role
Apply deep knowledge of financial planning and wealth products to customer needs
Deliver needs-based solutions through effective communication, influencing and sales skills
Build long-term partnerships and manage complex relationships with significant clients
Manage team performance through objective setting,timelyfeedbackand structured development planning
Coach others byidentifyingdevelopment needs, closing knowledgegapsand reinforcing effective behaviours
Demonstrate strong knowledge and understanding of retail banking products and services
Communicate clearly in writing and speaking with colleagues and senior stakeholders
