Job summary

FlatironDragados is seeking an Area Operations Manager for Data Centers to lead multiple large-scale civil infrastructure projects across geographic areas. You will oversee site development, earthwork, concrete, underground utilities, and paving, often in joint venture settings, ensuring targets are met in scope, schedule, and budget.

You will build client relationships, manage staffing with local leadership, monitor schedules, review costs, and drive risk mitigation, with heavy travel (>50%)

Qualifications

• 15+ years’ experience in heavy civil construction.
• 10+ years’ experience managing construction teams.
• Expert knowledge of heavy civil and infrastructure work.
• Ability to manage claims and negotiate with owners' representatives.
• Flexibility for frequent travel (>50%).

Responsibilities

• Builds strong relationships with project owners and JV partners through regular communication.
• Coordinates staffing with local leadership, project teams, and HR.
• Ensures notices, change orders, disputes, and claims are actively managed.
• Monitors monthly project schedules and ensures alignment with contracts and milestones.
• Reviews quantities, costs, and budgets to ensure profitability.
• Drives risk mitigation and opportunities across projects.
• Oversees financial reporting and monthly billing cycles with project teams.
• Manages schedule of values and ensures payment mechanisms are in place before work begins.
• Supports procurement of subcontractors and vendors.
• Collaborates with safety, finance, controls, and HR teams to support projects.
