Job summary

Hensel Phelps is seeking an Area Superintendent to supervise a defined project area, manage field operations, and lead a team of field engineers. The role focuses on schedule, budget, safety, and quality, with daily coordination of trade partners and material handling.

You will mentor foremen, enforce the site safety plan, and contribute to subcontractor coordination and punch list processes. A 4-year degree and extensive construction experience are required.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in civil/structural eng, architecture, or construction mgmt.
• 5–6 years’ experience on large commercial projects.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Proficiency in Excel, Prolog, Primavera, AutoDesk.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, supervise and mentor the company work force in their area.
• Coordinate field construction work through organization and proper planning with trade partners.
• Participate in weekly schedule and management meetings with trade partners.
• Promote and enforce the site-specific safety plan and sound safety principles.
• Create AHAs/STAs with foremen for all self-performed work.
• Review AHAs for trade partners.
• Participate in project scheduling and maintain the portion of the four-week schedule for their area to ensure timely completion.
• Keep accurate cost and production records.
• Coordinate material needs, RFIs, and site utilization plans.
• Ensure proper inspection of received material and signed receiving tickets.
