The Church News seeks an Area Communication & Publishing Director - USW in Salt Lake City, on-site. Lead a team of managers and staff to unify Church messaging across priority audiences in the area, aligning with the Global Church Communication Guide.

Role requires strong leadership, strategic communication, and crisis management skills, with extensive experience in brand and media relations. Reports to Director for Temporal Affairs, with 2-3 direct reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent post-secondary education/certificate in business, public relations, or a communication-related field.
• 7+ years of professional-level experience.
• Experience in developing, designing, and executing strategic communication plans.
• Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, and organizational development skills.
• Experience managing organizational brand, reputation, internal communication, and/or external media relations.

Responsabilités

• Increase understanding of the Church among audiences through unified communication across the area.
• Manage the Church's identity and reputation in alignment with area efforts.
• Develop internal and external campaigns.
• Build strategic relationships with key opinion leaders, including government and interfaith leaders.
• Extend reach of Church communication through identity and channels.
• Ensure appropriate research supports local product and content development.
• Unify church communication and publishing at the area level through integrated planning.
• Oversee annual publishing product planning, budgeting, and timelines.
• Develop a team to understand audience needs, values, and experiences.
• Oversee product management for area products and adaptation of global initiatives.
• Protect intellectual property, doctrinal accuracy, data privacy, and product alignment.
• Establish relationships with leaders and influencers across the area.
• Coordinate and assure effective use of Church channels at the area level.
