Job summary

Nordstrom is seeking an Area Asset Protection Manager to lead asset protection teams across Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack stores in the assigned area. This field-based role develops and executes shrink-reduction strategies, oversees investigations, and supports employee and customer safety.

Travel is required. You will recruit, train, and supervise protection staff, analyze loss and safety metrics, manage investigations, and partner with store operations to prevent theft.

Qualifications

• 5-8+ years in asset protection, loss prevention, inventory control, or security services.
• 5 years of people leadership experience.
• WZ certification required; CFI certification preferred.

• Lead, develop, and oversee asset protection teams, including recruiting, training, performance, and budgeting.
• Develop and implement shrink reduction plans, analyze loss and safety metrics, and manage theft prevention programs.
• Direct internal and external theft investigations, manage cases, and ensure evidence and documentation meet company guidelines.
• Support emergency preparedness, incident response, safety training, and cross-functional partnerships across assigned stores.

Requirements

• 5-8+ years of experience in asset protection, loss prevention, inventory control, or security services; multi-unit experience preferred.
• 5 years of experience managing people leaders.
• WZ certification required; CFI certification preferred.
• Strong analytical, communication, leadership, and decision-making skills; proficiency with exception-based reporting, CCTV, alarm reporting, and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to travel 25%-50%; a valid security license is required in New York City.
