Job summary

UIC Arctic Response Services, LLC is seeking a Utility Systems Specialist (USS) in Alaska to handle preventative maintenance and repair tasks for water and wastewater systems. Responsibilities include managing excavation of buried pipes, maintaining facility operations, reporting emergencies, and interfacing with the community.

The ideal candidate will hold or obtain a Level II Water and Wastewater Treatment Operator Certification and will work in various villages across North Slope. Competitive pay and per diem provided.

Qualifications

• Ability to pass a respirator fit test.
• Must possess a Level II Water and Wastewater Treatment Operator Certification within 12 months.
• Experience in water and wastewater operations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and organize water and wastewater plants.
• Perform excavation and repair of buried pipes in arctic conditions.
• Train and oversee local resident utility operators as needed.
