Job summary

UICGS / Bowhead Family of Companies is looking for a Utility Systems Specialist (USS) to maintain and repair water and wastewater systems in Alaska. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with environmental standards and requires effective communication with team members and public.

The ideal candidate should possess a high school diploma and must obtain a Level II Water Treatment Operator Certificate. The position offers a daily working schedule of 10 hours with the possibility of extended days during repair needs.

Qualifications

• Ability to pass a respirator fit test.
• Must be able to handle physical demands of the job.
• Must demonstrate knowledge of regulatory compliance for water and wastewater systems.

Responsibilities

• Direct excavation and repair of buried pipes in arctic conditions.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on water and wastewater plants.
• Ensure compliance with Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation standards.
