Job summary

UIC Municipal Services is seeking a Roving Service Barrel Technician to support local water and sewer operations in Arctic conditions. The role is rotational (3-4 weeks on/2-3 weeks off) with housing and per diem, traveling from Anchorage or Fairbanks.

You will operate, troubleshoot and repair service connections, assemble barrel components, manage inventory, and perform preventive maintenance under supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• ADEC Water Certification Level 1-2 preferred.
• Valid Alaska driver's license; CDL preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in Arctic conditions.
• Rotational schedule with extended hours and 3 weeks on/3 weeks off.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, adjust, and repair service barrels and exterior piping in Arctic conditions.
• Perform admin tasks like work orders and inventory management.
• Pre-assemble water service barrel manifolds and replace flow switches.
• Submit purchase orders for water and sewer parts.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on wastewater systems and components.
• Review and update SOPs for water/sewer service connections.
