Job summary

The ATAC Weather Observer at NMS ensures safe aviation operations at the Kuparuk field. You will provide current weather updates to aircraft and pilots, brief crews on conditions, and coordinate with ground support for safe runway activity.

Based at the Kuparuk oil field, this two-weeks-on/two-weeks-off role requires precise communication, readiness to support FAA standards, and the ability to work in a remote Alaskan location.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalence.
• At least 1 year of ATAC Weather Observer experience.
• FAA Weather Observer certification required.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Intermediate MS Office skills and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide current local aviation weather updates to aircraft near Kuparuk Airport.
• Provide weather briefings to pilots operating into and out of Kuparuk.
• Ensure runway and ground operations are prepared for Q400 flights to Kuparuk.
• Provide weather information to Kuparuk Operations and construction on request.
• Coordinate vehicle and aircraft movements on the apron and control access to runways.
