Job summary

The Department of Natural Resources, Support Services Division, is seeking a Recorder 1 in Anchorage to join the Archives unit. This entry-level role provides filing and customer service for the State of Alaska, with a front-facing daily schedule in a public-facing environment.

Responsibilities include scanning daily documents and filings, preparing image batches for archival production, fulfilling copy requests, and supporting indexing and database projects while maintaining equipment.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail is required and thorough.
• Proficiency with computers, software applications, databases, and automated systems.
• Ability to read and interpret material including technical instructions and reports.
• Strong written communication for clear, organized documentation.

Responsibilities

• Scan daily recorded documents, UCC filings, and plats; perform multi-step quality control and release images for public record.
• Collect and prepare image batches for archival production using the SMA Archive Writer.
• Fulfill customer requests for copies, including large image orders and CD ROM/FTP deliveries.
• Work independently and collaboratively on indexing, inventory, and database projects over time.
• Perform routine equipment upkeep and carry out additional duties as needed.
