Job summary

Mead & Hunt is seeking a highly motivated supervisor to lead staff within our Architecture South Central group. The role emphasizes staff management, team development, workload planning, and coaching while balancing billable projects.

The position requires a Bachelor's or related degree with 3+ years of experience, or an Associate degree with 5+ years, or 7 years with no degree. A valid license and travel are possible; travel ~30% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in architecture or related field from an accredited college or university.
• 3+ years of relevant experience; alternate paths include Associate degree with 5+ years of experience or 7 years without a degree.
• Experience with proposals, scopes, and client development is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, manage, and mentor architectural staff.
• Evaluate staff performance and set goals for growth.
• Provide project management or lead architectural leadership on government, military, and airport projects.
• Manage productivity to meet targets and handle budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
• Develop client contacts to secure future work and prepare proposals with scopes and pricing.
• Provide QC reviews and contribute to design/production standards.

As a result of our expansive and continued growth, we are seeking a highly motivated supervisor to lead staff within our Architecture South Central group. Given the leadership aspect of the role, we're placing significant emphasis on candidates who have demonstrated experience with day-to-day staff management, team development, workload planning, performance coaching, and successfully balancing those responsibilities with billable project work. This exciting opportunity also offers a flexible, hybrid work schedule, requiring at least three days per week onsite at our Dallas, TX office. While the position is primarily based at the Dallas, TX office, a remote work arrangement may be considered for highly qualified candidates who can work in the Dallas office at least 8 hours per month.

Responsibilities include:

• Supervising, managing, and mentoring architectural staff
• Evaluating staff performance and helping with goal setting for professional growth
• Providing project management or leading architectural technical leadership on projects that include local/state/federal government, military, and airport projects across the country
• Managing staff productivity to meet target goals
• Managing medium to large projects for budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation
• Developing and managing client contacts to secure future work
• Developing proposals including scope and pricing
• Providing quality (QC) reviews
• Assisting in the development of design and production standards
• Other tasks as assigned.

A valid driver's license and approximately 30% travel will be required.

The successful candidate must meet at least both the following requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in architecture or related field from an accredited college or university
• At least 3 years of relevant experience

OR

• Associate degree in architecture or related field from an accredited college or university
• At least 5 years of relevant experience

OR

• If no degree, must have at least 7 years of relevant architectural experience.

The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all the following:

• At least 8 years of relevant experience is preferred
• Extensive experience with proposals, fees, scopes are highly preferred
• Business development
• Supervising or mentoring staff

• Coordinating multiple stakeholders, including public agencies and/or military clients
• Project Management

• Experience or familiarity with generative AI-driven tools, platforms, or systems (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) to enhance productivity, automate tasks, and reduce errors.

• Leading design and drawing production
• Various Project Delivery Methods: Design/Bid/Build, Design Build or Construction Manager at Risk projects
• Negotiating scope and fees for projects
