Job summary

Douglas Pancake Architects, Inc. in Irvine, CA is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead complex architectural design projects from design through construction.

You will coordinate cross-disciplinary teams and maintain rigorous schedules to deliver high-quality results. The ideal candidate has 5–10 years of PM experience in architecture, a California license or active IDP, and strong knowledge of codes, BIM (ArchiCAD training provided).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an Accredited University. A master's degree is a plus.
• CA Licensed Architect or actively seeking IDP and professional licensure.
• 5–10 years proven track record as a Project Manager in an Architectural firm, managing large projects.
• Strong knowledge of architectural design, construction methodologies, and building codes/regulations.
• Proficiency in Architectural BIM software (Revit, ArchiCAD, or similar); ArchiCAD training will be provided.
• Excellent leadership abilities; motivate and inspire project teams.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills; manage multiple projects.
• Effective verbal and written communication; convey complex ideas clearly.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills; innovative solutions.
• Commitment to live-work balance and delivering projects on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage multiple projects through all design, documentation, and construction administration stages.
• Lead project teams, including architects, job captains, designers, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Develop and manage project schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
• Maintain project records, communications, and documentation.
• Serve as liaison with clients, consultants, and governing agencies.
• Attend project site meetings during construction to monitor progress and ensure compliance with design specifications.
• Manage project budgets and financials, track expenses, and update clients and senior management.
• Identify and mitigate project risks and address challenges impacting outcomes.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices in project management.
