Job description

Our client is a well-established, award-winning architecture, planning, and interiors firm with decades of experience and multiple offices across California and beyond. Known for designing communities that promote human fulfillment and well-being, they have built a strong reputation for thoughtful, high-quality residential work and a people-first studio culture. They offer a collaborative environment where design excellence, professional growth, and meaningful client relationships are at the core of everything they do.

We are looking for a technically skilled, design-driven Project Manager to join their Multi-Family team in San Diego or Irvine, CA. This is a great opportunity for someone ready to take ownership of complex projects and contribute meaningfully to a studio that values both craft and community.

This is a hybrid position, requiring a minimum of 3 days per week onsite at their San Diego or Irvine office.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead and coordinate all project efforts—administrative and technical—to ensure efficient, cost‑effective execution through all phases, including Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration.
  • Estimate fees, define scope of work, and assist with preparing proposals and contracts; monitor progress to ensure adherence to terms.
  • Actively manage client budgets, schedules, programs, project communications, documentation, and project team assignments.
  • Serve as the primary client liaison, guiding projects to successful completion while maintaining strong, trusted relationships.
  • Provide day‑to‑day oversight of project teams, monitoring the work of less experienced staff and supporting their development.
What You’ll Bring
  • Substantial experience using project management tools for project initiation, planning, billing, and labor tracking.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and collaborative skills.
  • A confident, solutions‑oriented approach, with the ability to maintain positive relationships with clients, consultants, and internal teams.
  • Proven ability to provide clear direction and inspiring leadership to architectural staff.
  • Strong proficiency in SketchUp, AutoCAD, and Revit/BIM.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience coordinating all aspects of architectural projects, administrative and technical, through all phases of development, including Schematic Design, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration.
  • Demonstrated experience with multifamily housing projects.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an NAAB‑accredited program.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development.
  • Legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States without restrictions (visa sponsorship is not available for this position).
  • Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage
