Job description

Overview

MG2, an affiliate of Colliers Engineering & Design, is currently looking for an Architectural Project Manager – Retail to join our Client Programs Market team in Irvine, CA. You will work on global and national building programs, leading projects and clients through all phases of design and delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Manage project teams through all project phases, ensuring deliverables align with contracts, schedules, budgets, and MG2 quality standards.
  • Ensure required contracts are in place before execution of contract deliverables.
  • Create and maintain accurate milestone‑based project schedules and staffing workplans.
  • Develop detailed Project Charters, including QA/QC plans for all project work.
  • Assist in developing project proposals and RFP responses as requested.
  • Continuously monitor project financial status and conduct intermediate financial reviews with Team Leads or Principal‑in‑Charge.
  • Review monthly project invoicing and consultant billing.
  • Produce weekly project updates, documenting contract deliverables, financial updates, contracts, and permitting reports; issue updates to all stakeholders.
  • Lead or direct all internal and external project team meetings.
  • Participate in all Quality Control procedures, reviewing all externally distributed project deliverables.
  • Oversee team activities during Construction Administration, review RFI and Submittal logs, attend OAC meetings, and review site visit reports and punch lists before issuance.
  • Host internal and external project debriefs following construction completion, focusing on continuous improvement.
  • Initiate project‑close out procedures after substantial completion, ensuring alignment with contractual obligations.
  • Manage internal and external resources, maintaining consistent quality and project profitability.
  • Continuously manage team performance, providing accurate and relevant feedback as needed.
  • Conduct monthly 1:1 check‑ins with all internal team members (People Managers Only).
  • Conduct mid‑year and year‑end performance reviews (People Managers Only).
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in a professional architecture or design firm.
  • Professional license preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams through all phases of milestone‑based project delivery.
  • Basic knowledge of architectural contracts and contract execution procedures.
  • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office.
  • Experience with collaboration software such as Bluebeam, Miro, and Teams.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English for job‑related communications and instruction.
Compensation

Compensation: $80,000 to $110,000 per year (depending on qualifications).
