Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Project Architect / PM / Construction Admin with a passion for educational architecture to join our team in Los Angeles, CA. This role requires a skilled architect or construction professional with extensive experience in Education, Cultural, and Arts projects, particularly within the California education system. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in either the PA / PM / CA role with exceptional CA/CD exp, project management skills, and a strong understanding of DSA (Division of the State Architect) requirements. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the construction administration phase of DSA, K-12, higher education, cultural, and arts projects, ensuring all work meets quality, safety, and compliance standards.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between architects, contractors, and clients during the construction process to address project requirements, timelines, and any issues that may arise.
  • Conduct regular on-site inspections and reviews to ensure compliance with DSA standards, project specifications, and architectural intent.
  • Review and approve submittals, RFI (Request for Information) responses, and change orders.
  • Collaborate with project managers, design teams, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth workflow and communication across all phases of the project.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of construction activities, site reports, and communications to ensure a clear project record.
  • Ensure that project deliverables are completed on time, in full scope and budget, maintaining a high standard of quality throughout.

Qualifications:

  • PM, Architect, & Construction Admin/Doc exp. and knowledge: 7+ years exp. working CA/CD in an architecture firm
  • CA Registered Architect preferred; candidates without registration but with substantial relevant experience in CA/CDs within education (DSA, K-12, Higher Ed) will still be considered.
  • Project Exp: Education (DSA K-12) & Arts, Cultural - a proven track record of success in managing the complexities of these project types.
  • In-depth knowledge of DSA processes, codes, and regulations related to school construction in California.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with construction documentation and software commonly used in the architecture and construction industries.
  • Must be local to Los Angeles, CA, and available for on-site visits as required.

  • Salary: Starting at $120,000 - $155,000 (DOE), with additional earnings through performance-based and profit-sharing bonuses, received biannually.
