Architectural Project Manager

Location: Sacramento, CA area (Hybrid – 1 day per week in office)

Pay Range: $75,000 – $110,000 per year, with flexibility depending on experience

Position Summary

We are seeking an Architectural Project Manager to coordinate and manage the day-to-day operations and activities of clients, architectural projects, and assigned staff. This role is responsible for ensuring quality, profitability, efficiency, and timely project delivery while fostering a collaborative team environment. The Architectural Project Manager will identify client needs and concerns and work proactively to ensure successful project outcomes from concept through construction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with the Business Director or Regional Partner to define project scope
  • Prepare manpower requirements, schedules, budgets, and fee projections
  • Coordinate and oversee project teams to meet established schedules and budgets
  • Maintain open communication with clients to strengthen relationships and prevent issues
  • Develop and document code searches
  • Assist with schematic design and initiate design development
  • Produce and oversee contract documents
  • Maintain project records including code documentation, correspondence, estimates, and budgets
  • Review team work for content accuracy and completion
  • Participate in construction walk-throughs, zoning meetings, and public hearings
  • Coordinate projects with outside consultants including engineers and interior designers
  • Participate in billing projections, track work progress, and follow up on overdue invoices
  • Communicate schedule delays, budget issues, and project risks to leadership
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Planning, Design, Engineering, or a related field and 3–5 years of experience assisting with all phases of architectural projects
  • 5–10 years of experience managing architectural projects from start to finish in lieu of a degree
  • Proven leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
  • Residential project experience (single-family and/or multi‑family)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working directly with clients and managing multi‑disciplinary project teams
Additional Details
  • Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 8 hours per day (32-hour workweek)
  • Work Arrangement: Hybrid schedule with one in‑office day per week
