Job summary

Hill Architectural Metal Enclosures Division in Illinois is seeking a Project Engineer to join our construction and manufacturing team. This entry to mid-level role covers estimating, design coordination, procurement, fabrication, installation, and project closeout as you build a career in the industry.

You will work with a mentor to develop technical and leadership skills, manage schedules, review shop drawings, and coordinate with customers, architects, and vendors to keep projects on track.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architectural Engineering, or related field.
• 0-5 years experience in construction, engineering, or manufacturing.
• Ability and willingness to learn construction drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, PowerPoint).
• Experience with CAD and Revit a plus; Bluebeam Revu a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support project execution from award through closeout.
• Maintain organized, up-to-date project documentation.
• Coordinate shop drawings, engineering documents, fabrication details, and field measurements.
• Prepare RFIs, submittals, samples, mock-ups, change orders, and closeout documentation.
• Track project costs, commitments, POs, and change orders; assist with monthly forecasting.
• Coordinate procurement activities and monitor material deliveries.
• Assist field operations with installation coordination and site meetings.
• Perform QA/QC inspections in fabrication shop and field.
