Job summary

Marx Okubo Associates, Inc. seeks a Project Coordinator in Denver, CO on a hybrid schedule with 2 days in the office and the other three remotely or in the field as needed.

Under the guidance of professional architects, the coordinator will review existing buildings and new construction, perform field observations, plan reviews, and cost analyses, while traveling regionally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in architecture or architectural engineering.
• 1–5 years of experience at an architecture firm is ideal; new grads with internships may be considered.
• Hours completed towards licensure preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Bluebeam; Box AI a plus.
• General understanding of building materials and construction methods; ability to read and interpret drawings.

Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate existing buildings and new construction.
• Perform field observations for property condition assessments and construction loan monitoring.
• Perform plan reviews for code compliance and construction adequacy; coordinate, detail, and review materials and systems.
• Conduct cost comparisons and budget analyses for new construction.
• Evaluate replacement costs for existing buildings; assist in repair projects.
• Travel to project sites as needed.

We're seeking aProject CoordinatorinDenver, CO.We're on a hybrid schedule with 2 days in the office and the other three either from home or the field as needed.

Essential Functions

Working under the guidance of professional architects, Project Coordinators will:

• Assist in the review and evaluation of existing buildings and new construction
• Perform field observations for property condition assessments, construction loan monitoring and new construction
• Perform plan reviews for general code compliance and adequacy of construction, including coordination, detailing, and building materials and systems
• Perform cost comparison and budget analysis for new construction projects
• Perform existing building replacement cost evaluations
• Assist in architectural/engineering repair projects for existing buildings
• Travel as needed to project sites

Our work covers most commercial building types, including office, retail, industrial, hotel/hospitality and multifamily, and is focused on technical and practical solutions. There are limited to no design opportunities in this role.

Qualifications,Skills,and Experience

• Bachelor’s or master’sdegree in architecture or architectural engineering
• 1- 5 years of experience at an architecture firm is ideal. New graduates with one to two related internships may be considered.
• Hours completed towards licensure preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel and Bluebeam, with Box AI a plus
• General understanding of building materials and methods
• Developing ability to read and interpret construction drawings
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work autonomously, remain organized, and take initiative
• Willingness to travellocally and regionally

Physical Requirements

Candidates should have the ability to:

• Move through construction and existing building sites over rough terrain
• See and respond to dangerous situations
• Respond quickly to sounds
• Ascend and descend ladders and stairs
• Move safely through confined spaces and narrow paths
• Work in outdoor weather conditions or unconditioned areas
• Operate a computer and other related office equipment, and possessvisual acuity to read information from printed sources and computer screens
• Lift up to 40 pounds (ex: ladders)
• Travel approximately 25-50% of the time both in and out of state
