Job summary

Studio AR&D Architects, a Los Angeles based architecture firm, seeks a Job Captain who will oversee the creation of drawings and construction documents, coordinating with the Owner, consultants, and contractor to deliver high-quality work on time and within budget.

You will lead a production team on multiple residential projects, ensure CAD accuracy, organize drawing sets, and maintain office standards while communicating with clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Masters Degree in Architecture.
• 2–6 years of Job Captain experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and construction documents.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Portfolio demonstrating relevant projects.

Responsibilities

• Take direction from Project Managers and Managing Principal on various high-end residential projects
• Produce, manage, and coordinate construction documentation sets
• Complete technical CAD drawings and tasks as directed in a clear and organized manner consistent with office standards
• Report regularly to the Project Manager and Firm Principal
• Coordinate architectural design and building systems with engineering consultants
• Produce and understand and develop technical drawings and details with Project Manager assistance at times
• Create and organize construction details in a proficient manner, checking your own work against code and office standards
• Organize drawing sets and oversee the completing of submittals to various municipalities
• Perform filing, code, and zoning analyses for multiple municipalities and related zoning ordinances
• Survey and document existing conditions in the field
• Research construction materials and systems
• General office and project duties as required to the firm and position
• Track consultant proposals, costs, and payment requests and approve/reject invoices or requests for payment
