COAR Design Group is seeking a Job Captain to join our Santa Rosa, CA office. The role focuses on producing architectural drawings, developing Revit models, and coordinating with the project team to generate design and construction documents for permits, bidding, and construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with Revit and a broad understanding of the software and its capabilities is required.
• This position is primarily based in an office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Use Revit and Enscape to create renderings and VR walkthroughs
• Prepare drawings in Revit that adhere to office standards
• Assist project team/manager in developing construction documents for permitting, bidding and construction
• Participate in multiple concurrent projects from start to finish during design development and construction documents phases
• Develop and communicate design ideas and technical information related to the project including, but not limited to, design presentations, client meetings, detailing and hand sketching
• Assists in the development of a design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, massing studies, and other visual formats.
• Utilizes BIM technologies in development of three-dimensional models of buildings and their components.
• Assists in site analysis, research of concept, benchmarks, typology, and precedents.
• Provide input to the design and construction schedule – communicate the technical implications of design decisions
• Responsible for the development and coordination of the drawings and specifications including: program requirements, code and agency compliance, schedule commitments, product research, and building systems
• Organize and coordinate with the architectural and engineering team to execute the work in an orderly, timely, and coordinated manner
• Attend project team and client meetings as required
• Participates in value engineering and basic cost estimating.
• Provide support for any tasks required for the successful completion of the project
