Job summary

Bernhard Woodwork Ltd. in Northbrook, IL is seeking an experienced Architectural Millwork Draftsman/Detailer to join our drafting team.

You will develop accurate shop drawings for custom fabrications and installations, interpreting plans, elevations, and specifications. The role requires coordinating with project managers, draftsmen, and production staff to ensure constructible drawings, and using AutoCAD and Microvellum, with Excel for project coordination.

Qualifications

• Professional experience in architectural millwork drafting or detailing.
• Strong understanding of millwork construction, materials, and fabrication methods.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and experience with Microvellum preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage assigned work and coordinate effectively with a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed architectural millwork shop drawings for custom fabrication and installation.
• Interpret architectural plans, elevations, sections, and specifications.
• Coordinate with project managers, draftsmen, and production teams to resolve detailing and constructability issues.
• Develop accurate drawings using Microvellum and AutoCAD.
• Utilize Excel and Microsoft Office for project coordination and documentation.
• Ensure drawings are accurate, complete, and consistent with project requirements.
