Job summary

Arup in Los Angeles is looking for a Lighting Designer to develop and implement innovative lighting and controls solutions for various project types including Healthcare and Commercial. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree related to Lighting Design and 4+ years of experience in the industry.

You will work collaboratively on creative concepts, produce technical construction documents, and utilize major software tools such as Revit and AutoCAD. Arup fosters a diverse and inclusive work environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant experience in the lighting design industry with an emphasis in arts and culture.
• Ability to produce construction documents in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Proven capability with tools such as MS Word, Excel, AGI 32, InDesign.
• Ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible way.
• Attitude of taking initiative, enthusiasm, eagerness to learn, teamwork, creativity.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a variety of project types including Healthcare, Transport, and Government Buildings.
• Develop concepts and strategies for lighting projects with team members.
• Produce lighting calculations to influence design decisions.
• Coordinate electric lighting systems with daylight harvesting controls.
• Produce lighting models including 3D and 2D.
• Design lighting and controls for various project types and markets.
