Job summary

Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope (OBE) is seeking a skilled estimator to provide detailed take-offs and build comprehensive BOMs for curtainwalls, storefronts, and skylights. You will review architectural specs and perform cost analyses to align with project goals while collaborating with internal teams to secure bids.

Applicants should have at least 2 years in commercial glazing or architectural metal estimating, strong blueprint interpretation, and expertise in Bluebeam Revu and Excel.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years estimating experience in commercial glazing or architectural metal.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural blueprints and shop drawings.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam Revu for digital take-offs and Excel for cost analysis.
• Strong understanding of glazing systems including curtainwalls and storefronts.
• Excellent communication of technical details to customers and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Detailed take-offs for aluminum and hardware using digital tools.
• Develop BOMs for complex projects including curtainwalls and storefronts.
• Review Division 08 specs to ensure thermal, structural, and aesthetic compliance.
• Calculate total project costs including materials and labor.
• Prepare and submit bid packages and quotations to contractors.
• Collaborate with engineering and sales for value engineering options.
