Job summary

Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope is seeking an Estimator to produce detailed, timely estimates for architectural aluminum systems, including curtainwalls, storefronts, and skylights, by analyzing plans and specifications.

You will develop BOMs, evaluate costs, and prepare bid packages, collaborating with engineering and sales to explore VE options and win projects. Minimum 2 years in commercial glazing estimation required; strong Bluebeam and Excel skills preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of estimating experience in commercial glazing or architectural metal.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural blueprints and shop drawings.
• Proficient with Bluebeam Revu for digital take-offs and Excel for cost analysis.
• Understanding of curtainwall systems and glazing performance data.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantity take-offs for aluminum and related hardware using digital tools.
• Develop comprehensive bills of materials for complex projects (curtainwalls, storefronts, and entrances).
• Review Division 08 specs to ensure products meet thermal, structural, and aesthetic requirements.
• Calculate total project costs including materials, labor, and components.
• Compile and submit bid packages and quotations to glazing or general contractors.
• Collaborate with engineering and sales to provide VE options and alternate solutions.
