Job summary

HNTB Corporation is seeking a talented architectural designer to work on world-class transit stations and facilities, collaborating with project architects and designers to develop materials for delivery and client presentations. You will be working on world-class transit stations and facilities including renovations and new construction, collaborating with project architects and designers to develop materials for project delivery and client presentations. This opportunity entails being responsible for specific technical design aspects of an assigned project including research, investigation, evaluation and recommendation of design solutions that advance concepts and best meet client needs.

What You’ll Do
  • Provides professional architectural consulting in the planning, design and coordination of project assignments.
  • May make recommendations on design alternatives.
  • Applies knowledge of architectural principles and practices in broad array of assignments.
  • Support or makes decisions on architectural design problems and methods.
  • Has technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating architectural design assignments.
  • Responsible for specific technical design aspects of an assigned project, including investigation, evaluation and recommendation of design solutions that best meet the client’s need.
  • Applies moderate architectural concepts and designs.
  • Carries out assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and two years of relevant experience.
What You’ll Bring
  • Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Rendering skills (Enscape, V-Ray, or Lumion) are a strong plus.
  • Experience in working on architectural/engineering project team to prepare design and contract documents.
  • Ability to produce graphic presentations, 3D renderings, and assist in construction drawings.
  • Project experience on medium-sized to large-scale projects.
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Assisted with team communication and consultant coordination.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong design process skills and experience in providing recommendations on design alternatives and conceptual designs.
  • Clear communication skills, including presentation skills.
What We Prefer
  • Transit Architecture design experience MTA or CTDOT project experience
  • Bentley MicroStation and OpenBuildings experience
  • Envision Accreditation or LEED Accreditation a plus
  • 3D modeling skills (Rhino, SketchUp, etc)
  • 3D printing experience
  • Experience preparing presentations using PowerPoint or InDesign

Locations: Los Angeles, CA (Figueroa Street), New York, NY.

The approximate pay range for Los Angeles Metro Area and Orange County, CA is $76,367.81 - $114,551.72. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as physical work location within the state.

The approximate pay range for New York is $83,008.49 - $124,512.74. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position based on all selected locations within the state at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as physical work location within the state.
