Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. seeks an Architectural Designer to join its Buildings practice in the United States.

You will support projects under a Senior Designer or Architect, with licensure as a possible short-term goal. Responsibilities include developing designs through sketches and models, coordinating with structural/mechanical/electrical systems, and producing documentation across architectural phases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
• 3–7 years of experience.
• LEED Green Associate or LEED AP desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Keeps the Project Manager informed of progress on expectations, deadlines, and deliverables that fall within their responsibility.
• Assists in monitoring and coordination of consultant work and deadlines.
• Assist project teams in the development of a design through sketches, physical models, electronic models, diagrams, massing studies, and other visual formats.
• Utilize Autodesk Revit and other BIM technologies in development of three-dimensional models of buildings and their components.
• Prepare and revises documentation in various architectural phases including site plans, floor plans, building elevations, building sections, and details.
• Coordinate building systems (structural, mechanical, electrical, etc.) to ensure compatibility with the design intent.
• Assist in contract administration tasks.
• Attend project coordination and meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants.
• Implement sustainable design principles into the building design and surrounding environment.
• Assist in site analysis, research of concept, benchmarks, typology, and precedents.
