Job summary

Stantec’s Buildings team in San Diego seeks a junior architectural design professional to contribute to drawings and documentation across project phases. You will work under a Project Manager or Project Architect and develop elevations, sections, renderings, and details while exploring innovative ideas in a lively design studio.

You will be exposed to diverse project types, participate in design critiques, and coordinate with structural, mechanical, and electrical teams to ensure design intent

Qualifications

• Pursuing or hold an architecture degree or diploma.
• Fundamental knowledge of architectural drafting and documentation.
• Familiarity with BIM workflows and design collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Assist project teams in developing designs through sketches, models and diagrams.
• Use BIM to develop 3D models of buildings and components.
• Participate in design critiques and team pin-ups.
• Prepare and revise documentation across site plans, floor plans, elevations and details.
• Coordinate structural, mechanical and electrical systems with the design intent.
• Assist in contract administration tasks.
• Attend project meetings with internal teams and external consultants.
• Apply sustainable design principles to building concepts.
• Assist in site analyses and precedent studies.
