Job summary

The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc. is seeking a Specialist, Architectural Design to support the DT Facilities Engineering team at the TCCD District Offices.

You will produce design drawings, update base plans, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure code compliance and effective project delivery. Responsibilities include reviewing requests, creating construction drawings with the RE&F department, and assisting in room-number assignments and CMMS updates.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or 60 hours minimum college credits with 3 years related experience
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering or related professional degree
• At least 1 year under the guidance of an architect, engineer, or contractor
• Experience with Autodesk Vault, Revit 3D software, GIS, or ArchGIS for AutoCAD

Responsibilities

• Reviews and evaluates work requests and clarifies scope of work with requester
• Document existing conditions and prepare design drawings for approval
• Coordinate with environmental services regarding asbestos in project areas
• Prepare construction drawings with the RE&F team (mechanical, electrical, plumbing)
• Provide base plans and update drawings using closeout records from the construction team
• Assist with sign shop requests and quality checks of signs
• Assist in assigning new room numbers for CMMS systems and related projects
• Collaborate with CMMS team to revise room numbers as needed
• Provide graphic support for project scopes and board presentations
• Maintain architectural, furniture, engineering, civil and utility base plans in Autodesk Vault
