Job summary

The Connecticut Department of Housing’s Architectural Design Reviewer 1 position is based in Hartford and focuses on independent architectural design review, contract document analysis, and collaboration with consultants to prepare drawings, specifications, and cost estimates. This full-time, 40-hour-per-week role requires a minimum of six years in architectural design and strong CAD

Qualifications

• Six years of experience in preparing architectural designs and project documents.
• Experience utilizing computer aided design and drafting (CADD) equipment.
• Knowledge of building and fire codes.
• Ability to review, interpret and apply contract provisions and read blueprints.
• Ability to accurately estimate project costs and utilize computer software.
• Experience with construction plan review related to building code and accessibility requirements (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Review housing development applications, closing documentation, and construction plans.
• Perform architectural design review and analysis of contract documents.
• Assist consultants in developing project documents including drawings, specifications and cost estimates.
