Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking an Architecture Intern to join a design team supporting residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects. The role offers a direct way to apply architecture coursework to real-world building design.

You will learn to apply building codes like the IBC, assist Senior Architects with drawings, renderings, and construction documents, and participate in site visits to observe progress.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a NAAB-accredited undergraduate Architecture program.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for professional interaction.
• Willingness to learn in a flexible, cross-disciplinary environment.
• Must be able to attend site visits and work outdoors occasionally.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing architectural drawings, renderings, and 3D models for building projects.
• Support development of construction documents including plans, elevations, sections, and details.
• Research applicable building codes, zoning requirements, and accessibility standards.
• Prepare design submittals for architectural review boards, planning commissions, and permitting agencies.
• Coordinate with civil, landscape and structural engineers to integrate site and building design.
• Attend site visits to document conditions and observe construction progress.
