Job summary

NWS is seeking an Architectural Associate in Chicago on a hybrid schedule to support the project managers and project architects. You will work closely with the team on construction drawings, renderings, and documenting existing conditions.

This entry-level role requires a degree in architecture and offers exposure to a variety of retail/commercial projects, site visits, and growing your technical skills with software like AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp in a collaborative studio environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in architecture from an accredited university.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe, Microsoft Office Suite (Required).
• Proficiency in Revit, Lumion, Enscape, SketchUp and Photoshop (Preferred).
• 0-3 years of experience in architectural practice.

Responsibilities

• Produce construction drawings on a wide range of projects with guidance from PM/architect.
• Develop design ideas and schemes, communicating them through drawings/renderings.
• Visit local/national project locations for site visits and documenting conditions.
• Support PM with client requests, submittals, and coordination with consultants.
• Prepare and track permit submittals and respond to permit comments.
• Create project folders and maintain the project directory.
• Provide architectural support for assigned project tasks.
