Baxter Healthcare in Deerfield, IL, is seeking an Architect for the IT Data Architecture team to design and build data services, pipelines, and secure, scalable access to enterprise information across the Mosaic platform.

You will join a highly technical team focused on modern architecture, cloud technologies, and enterprise data solutions, delivering new features, microservices, RESTful APIs, and governance-aware designs that create real value for Baxter’s internal customers.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in endpoint development, data engineering, software engineering, or architecture for enterprise-scale apps.
• 5+ years of cloud experience (AWS, Azure, GCP) or comparable environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python, Flask, Gunicorn, SQL, Neo4j, Unix/Linux, and RESTful APIs.

Your Role at Baxter

As an Architect on Baxter's IT Data Architecture team, you will play a key role in designing and building the data services, pipelines, and application architecture that enable secure, scalable access to information across the enterprise. This role will help drive the continued evolution of Mosaic, a critical internal platform used by teams across Baxter, through the development of new capabilities, integrations, and innovative technical solutions.

You will join a highly technical team focused on modern architecture, cloud technologies, and enterprise data solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on architect who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, learning new technologies quickly, and building solutions that have broad organizational impact. Success in this role will be measured by your ability to quickly ramp up on the Mosaic platform, contribute meaningful enhancements within your first few months, and deliver new features into production that create value for Baxter's internal customers.

This is a hybrid role based in Deerfield, IL.

What you'll be doing

• Design and implement data pipelines, APIs, and endpoints that provide secure and scalable access to enterprise data.
• Develop and enhance Mosaic platform capabilities using Python, SQL, Neo4j, Unix, and modern software development practices.
• Design and implement microservices and architectural solutions that improve system scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Build and maintain RESTful services that enable efficient access to data and support enterprise applications across Baxter.
• Leverage Docker and containerization technologies to improve portability, deployment, and operational efficiency.
• Partner with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
• Ensure data privacy, security, and governance requirements are incorporated into application and architecture decisions.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, AI tools, and machine learning capabilities to drive continuous innovation across the platform.

What you'll bring

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in endpoint development, data engineering, software engineering, or architecture, with experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale applications and services.
• 5+ years of experience working with AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or a comparable cloud computing environment.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python, Flask, gUnicorn, SQL, Neo4j, Unix/Linux, and RESTful API development.
• Experience with Docker, Redis, microservices, architectural patterns, and distributed application development; experience with JavaScript, Node.js, UI/UX development, or equivalent technologies is a plus.
• Strong understanding of data privacy, security, governance principles, and modern application architecture.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and changing priorities.
• Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field with 12+ years of experience, or a Bachelor's degree with 15+ years of experience; experience with machine learning and predictive modeling; AWS certification; and architecture-related certifications.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $128,000 -$176,000. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position is also eligible for discretionary bonuses.
