Job summary

Baxter International Inc., based in Raleigh, North Carolina, is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain .NET applications, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality solutions for clients.

The role requires strong C#, RESTful APIs, GraphQL, ORM experience, and cloud capabilities in Azure and/or AWS, with a focus on microservices and modern DevOps practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software development with .NET, including C#, Web APIs, and modern application development practices.
• Strong experience designing, developing, and optimizing applications using SQL Server or other relational database technologies.
• Experience building and consuming HTTP-based services, including RESTful APIs and GraphQL architectures.
• Hands-on experience with ORM technologies such as Entity Framework, Dapper, or similar data access frameworks.
• Experience building and supporting cloud-based solutions within Microsoft Azure and/or AWS environments.
• Knowledge of microservices architecture, distributed systems, and scalable application design principles.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern software delivery methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with experience working effectively in Agile environments and contributing to technical leadership initiatives.

At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $120,000-$165,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
