Job summary

Metra is seeking an Architect II to lead station and parking facility design projects. You will review plans for compliance, manage budgets, coordinate with in-house and consultants, and oversee contracts to ensure on-time delivery and safety standards.

Reporting to the Director of Stations and Parking, you will manage multiple projects, build stakeholder relationships, and ensure adherence to Metra guidelines while supporting capital delivery objectives across the six-county region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Civil Engineering.
• Two years of Architectural or Civil design experience that includes project management.
• Knowledge of planning, Architectural/Engineering design, procurement, and construction projects.
• Knowledge of project management, project controls, and contract administration.

Responsibilities

• Participate on project teams as the resident architect reviewing plans and designs for compliance with guidelines and codes.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and suggest solutions to stay within budget and schedule.
• Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships to facilitate coordination.
• Prepare and manage project budgets and oversee scopes of work by consultants.
• Review bids and proposals, negotiate contracts, and authorize payments.
• Promote safe work practices and maintain a safe work environment.
