Job summary

NC Department of Administration seeks a registered Architect II for the State Construction Division to review Construction Documents and verify compliance with architectural design and building codes. The role focuses on the architectural discipline, coordinating with licensed professionals and state officials.

Requirements include a NC architecture license, Inspector Certificate or ability to obtain, and related experience in multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in architecture or an engineering discipline and three years of related experience as a registered architect; or an equivalent combination of training and directly related experience.
• Valid license to practice architecture granted by the North Carolina Board of Architecture.
• Possession of a Level III North Carolina Inspector Certificate or ability to obtain within three years.

Responsibilities

• Provide a written technical review and commentary on Construction Documents submitted by licensed architects and engineers.
• Address architectural design and details of general construction in compliance with building codes and statutes.
• Collaborate with officials and private/public sectors to maintain relationships and ensure compliance.
