Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an NAAB accredited Architecture program.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of architectural design experience.
  • Professional Architect License.
  • Advanced proficiency with Revit, Rhino, Enscape, and Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Knowledge of BIM across various project types.
  • Experience in education, transportation and community architecture.
  • LEED AP accreditation preferred.
  • Climate Studio / Sefaira familiarity is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Apply advanced design aspects to major projects through investigation and solution development.
  • Prepare architectural drawings and construction documents per codes and standards.
  • Use Revit, Rhino, Enscape, Adobe CC to develop drawings, models, and visualizations.
  • Review specs to ensure alignment with docs and regulatory standards.
  • Write reports and specifications.

Position summary

Architect II is a licensed architectural professional who independently performs a wide range of architectural assignments using a high level of professional judgement in all phases of a project from conceptual design through construction. Supports larger size projects and leads defined technical aspects. The position demonstrates advanced technical proficiency, professional independence, collaboration, and provides technical guidance to less experienced architectural staff.

Compensation for this position is $88,000.00 - $100,000.00, commensurate with experience, education and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description. We notice that we receive a wide variety of applicants and recognize that the person selected may be less experienced or more experienced. If so, the actual salary range may vary from the estimate provided.

Essential functions and responsibilities
  • Apply specific and advanced technical design aspects of an assigned major project, including investigation, evaluation and recommendation of design solutions that best meet the client's needs.
  • Prepare architectural drawings and construction documentation in accordance with established standards, building codes, zoning regulations, sustainability requirements, and scope.
  • Utilize architectural design, modeling, and graphic software, including Revit, Rhino, Enscape, Adobe Creative Cloud, and similar tools to independently develop drawings, models, and visualizations in support of project deliverables.
  • Review architectural specifications to ensure alignment with construction documents, technical requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Write reports and specifications.
  • Conduct code research and analysis, interpret applicable requirements, and apply findings to inform design decisions, coordination efforts, and documentation.
  • Develop and prepare for client presentations and meetings.
  • Lead internal and external project meetings; and communicate technical information, decisions, and follow‑up items effectively.
  • Apply QA/QC standards to architectural deliverables and assist in identifying and resolving design and coordination issues.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and review support to less experienced architectural staff, reinforcing best practices, standards, and quality expectations.

Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an NAAB accredited Architecture program
  • Minimum of 7+ years of architectural design experience
  • Professional Architect License
  • Advanced proficiency with computer-assisted design software such as Revit, Rhino, Enscape, Adobe Creative Cloud, and/or similar applications.
  • Advanced knowledge of the appropriate application of Building Information Modeling (BIM) across various project types
  • Knowledge of architectural specifications and their relationship to construction documents
  • Knowledge of codes, sustainability requirements and their implementation
  • Understanding of Building Programming.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • LEED AP accreditation preferred.
  • Experience in education, transportation and community architecture LEED AP accreditation preferred
  • Experience in architectural practice in education, transportation, community, federal, or a related market.
  • Exposure to environmental analysis applications such as Climate Studio, Sefaira, Insight360, and Lady Bug/Honeybee is a plus.
Working Conditions

Work is performed within a general office environment 95% of the time. Work isgenerally sedentaryinnature, butmay require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature areadequateand there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.

Field work is required on occasion where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required as needed.
