3Cloud is seeking an Azure Architect to lead solution architecture for cloud-native applications on Azure. You will translate business needs into scalable designs, mentor delivery teams, and contribute to reusable assets while ensuring delivery excellence across engagements.

Responsibilities include design oversight, presales support, and guiding engineers within Delivery Service Lines. This is a remote-friendly role with opportunities for travel up to 25% as needed.

As an Architect, you build on your established domain expertise to lead solution architecture and delivery for modern, cloud-native applications on Azure. Your primary focus is on translating business requirements into scalable designs, ensuring delivery excellence, and deepening your technical mastery in one primary domain such as Application Innovation, Cloud Platform, or Data & AI.

At this level, you demonstrate architectural ownership, technical rigor, and delivery consistency. You contribute to reusable assets and frameworks that improve project efficiency, while beginning to mentor others and strengthen alignment across engineering and delivery teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design and delivery for client engagements, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-quality Azure-based solutions.
• Translate business and functional requirements into technical architectures by collaborating closely with clients, delivery teams, and internal stakeholders.
• Provide architectural oversight and governance, ensuring engineering execution aligns with delivery objectives and best practices.
• Develop and contribute to reusable assets (e.g., accelerators, frameworks, templates, and documentation) that enhance efficiency and solution quality.
• Mentor engineers and early-career architects within Delivery Service Lines, sharing architectural patterns, technical insights, and delivery best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve delivery challenges, including integration, performance, and scalability issues.
• Apply current Azure technologies and Microsoft frameworks to optimize solutions for maintainability, performance, and cost efficiency.
• Contribute to delivery consistency by supporting architectural reviews, pattern development, and delivery alignment within your domain.
• Engage in presales support when needed, including technical discovery, scope definition, and proposal input.
• Manage workload and commitments to meet utilization goals while maintaining architectural quality across engagements.

Requirements

• Proven experience delivering Azure-based solutions in consulting, client-facing, or enterprise environments.
• Strong technical foundation in one primary domain (Application Innovation, Cloud Platform, or Data & AI).
• Demonstrated ability to translate business and functional needs into scalable, high-quality technical designs.
• Experience guiding engineering teams, reviewing solutions, and ensuring architectural quality across projects.
• Recognized for contributing to reusable frameworks, accelerators, or delivery assets that improve project consistency.
• Effective communicator, able to work across technical and non-technical teams to align architecture decisions with business goals.
• Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification (or equivalent).
• Exposure to hybrid or multi-cloud environments is a plus.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% for client projects as needed.

Expertise

Architects at this level bring deep technical expertise in one primary domain and apply that mastery to design, deliver, and support modern solutions on Azure. They ensure high-quality execution through sound architecture, reusable assets, and collaboration with engineering teams.

Application Innovation

• Design and deliver modern, cloud-native applications using .NET, Java, Node.js, or Python.
• Develop microservices, APIs, and event-driven architectures optimized for scalability and maintainability.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and containerized solutions using Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) or Azure Container Apps.
• Modernize and migrate legacy applications to Azure using contemporary architecture and coding practices.
• Partner with cloud and data teams to ensure alignment between applications, infrastructure, and data layers.

Cloud Platform

• Design and implement Azure infrastructure solutions, including networking, identity, security, and governance.
• Use Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates) to automate environment provisioning and management.
• Develop platform automation, compliance, and cost optimization strategies for Azure environments.
• Support hybrid and multi-cloud environments and integrate workloads with Azure landing zones.
• Collaborate with application teams to ensure performance, security, and reliability across the platform.

Data & AI

• Design and implement modern data architectures using Azure Synapse, Data Lake, Databricks, and SQL.
• Build and optimize data integration pipelines that support analytics and application use cases.
• Apply governance frameworks to ensure data quality, lineage, and compliance.
• Support delivery of AI and machine learning solutions using Azure Machine Learning and Cognitive Services.
• Work with application and platform teams to enable insight-driven capabilities in modernized solutions.

Certification Requirements

• Core Requirement:
  • AZ-900: Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals
  • AZ-104: Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
  • AZ-305: Solutions Architect Expert

3Cloud offers competitive compensation. In addition to base pay employees are eligible to receive an annual discretionary/utilization bonus. If you are hired at 3Cloud your final base salary is based on factors such as skills, education, experience and/or geographic location.Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above includes the full base salary range for the role.It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range.

Base Salary Range

$145,200—$187,800 USD
