Job summary

SNI Companies is seeking an Architect in Jacksonville, FL to join an architectural and design firm on a full-time, direct-hire basis. This onsite role involves handling projects across residential, commercial, and light industrial sectors from planning through construction documentation and permitting.

The ideal candidate will manage multiple assignments, coordinate with clients and consultants, and ensure design solutions meet code, budget, and schedule requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Architectural Studies, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and similar software.
  • Professional experience producing construction documents and coordinating architectural projects with limited supervision.
  • Strong knowledge of building design principles, construction methods, and documentation standards.
  • Understanding of applicable building codes and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Outstanding attention to detail, organization, and project management abilities.
  • Ability to balance competing priorities and manage multiple deadlines effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Create architectural drawings, plans, elevations, details, and comprehensive construction documents for a variety of building projects.
  • Transform client goals, operational needs, site constraints, and budget requirements into functional design solutions.
  • Produce accurate permit-ready documentation and construction drawing packages.
  • Coordinate project documentation with engineering consultants and specialty disciplines.
  • Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and project coordination discussions.
  • Address jurisdictional review comments and revise plans as necessary to secure approvals.
  • Conduct field verifications, site assessments, and project observations during various stages of development.
  • Assist with material research, building detailing, specifications, and construction administration activities.
  • Review project documents for quality, compliance, completeness, and constructability.
  • Collaborate closely with designers, drafting professionals, engineers, contractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Manage multiple active projects while maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to deadlines.
  • Support projects through planning, design development, permitting, bidding, and construction phases.

SNI Companies is recruiting on behalf of a growing architectural and design firm seeking an experienced Architect to join its Jacksonville team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an architectural professional who enjoys working across a variety of project types and playing an active role throughout the entire project lifecycle. From initial planning and design development through construction documentation, permitting, and construction support, the Architect will contribute to projects spanning residential, commercial, and light industrial sectors.

The ideal candidate is technically strong, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple assignments while collaborating with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal project teams.

Position Overview

As a key member of the design team, you will develop creative and practical architectural solutions while ensuring projects meet code requirements, client objectives, budget considerations, and project timelines. This role offers exposure to a diverse project portfolio, including new construction, renovations, tenant improvements, and facility expansions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create architectural drawings, plans, elevations, details, and comprehensive construction documents for a variety of building projects.
  • Transform client goals, operational needs, site constraints, and budget requirements into functional design solutions.
  • Produce accurate permit-ready documentation and construction drawing packages.
  • Contribute to projects encompassing a broad range of architectural styles, building types, and project scopes.
  • Research and apply building codes, land-use requirements, municipal regulations, and permitting standards throughout the design process.
  • Coordinate project documentation with engineering consultants and specialty disciplines.
  • Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and project coordination discussions.
  • Address jurisdictional review comments and revise plans as necessary to secure approvals.
  • Conduct field verifications, site assessments, and project observations during various stages of development.

  • Strong knowledge of building design principles, construction methods, and documentation standards.
  • Understanding of applicable building codes and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Outstanding attention to detail, organization, and project management abilities.
  • Ability to balance competing priorities and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active architectural registration or licensure.
  • Progress toward professional licensure or industry certifications.
  • Experience navigating municipal review, entitlement, and permitting processes.
  • Strong understanding of Florida building regulations and development requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience guiding projects from conceptual design through construction completion.
  • Background working on a mix of residential, commercial, mixed‑use, hospitality, institutional, manufacturing, or industrial projects.
