Sonoma State University is seeking an Archaeological Research Technician to gather, compile and analyze data from surveys and excavations. You will work under the ASC Business Director and management team to support research activities on-site at Sonoma locations.

The role emphasizes data handling, collaboration with anthropology staff, and adapting to field and lab settings in a part-time, temporary capacity. Preference is given to those with anthropology background and computer proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Anthropology or closely related discipline strongly preferred.
• Experience with archaeological sites and field or lab settings; oral history experience is a plus.
• Proficiency with computers, Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel). Knowledge of PeopleSoft preferred.

Responsibilities

• Gather, compile and analyze archaeological research data and materials from surveys and excavations.
• Support data management, reporting and documentation for the ASC team.
