Job summary

WSP in Richmond, VA is seeking an on-call Archaeology Lab Technician to support laboratory processing of artifacts. The role involves washing, cataloging, photographing, and labeling artifacts, with supervision from a Lab Director.

You will join the Earth & Environment Cultural Resource Team on project-based work across the Mid-Atlantic region, requiring attention to detail and teamwork. Prior lab/museum experience and proficiency with Excel/Access are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 0-1 year experience working or volunteering in a laboratory or museum setting.
• Self-motivated with good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Attention to detail, ability to follow instructions, and good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with laboratory processing of artifacts supervised by a Lab Director.
• Assist with cleaning artifacts and ecofacts.
• Assist with artifact cataloguing and identification.
• Assist with artifact photography and labeling.
• Work as part of a team and exercise responsible and ethical decision-making.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
