Job summary

HDR is seeking a Cultural Resources Intern to gain real-world field and reporting experience on archaeological projects in Austin, TX. You’ll work under supervision, support field surveys, curation, and site documentation, and participate in mentoring and young professionals programs.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in archaeology/anthropology/architectural history programs, with strong problem-solving and communication skills, and a willingness to learn in an employee-owned culture that values

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program
  • Preferred GPA 3.0+
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Physically able to perform field tasks under outdoor conditions
  • Willingness to learn and contribute in an employee-owned culture

Responsibilities

  • Assist with a variety of archeological field and reporting work
  • Perform desktop evaluations, field surveys, and curation tasks
  • Assist project archeologists and crew chiefs as needed
  • Complete sketches/maps of sites and field forms accurately
  • Use hand-held GPS units and photograph resources
